Location: Charleston AFB, SC
The other day I decided to take a short trip over to Successionville and Fort Lamar. I have to honestly say I was somewhat disappointed in what I found. I had been expecting a little more preserved and upkept area.
The area on the side of the road with the pavilion looked really nice, but the other side of the road an area almost completly overgrown with undergrowth, damaged/broken markers and lots of garbage. There were no fliers in the pavilion, so I was going of the maps made available to determine locations of former gun emplacements and other structures. Also the areas around the fort, locations of former camps seem to all be high value private property.

I plan on making a visit to Fort Moultrie soon.

Here are the pictures from my recent trip.

Enjoy,
Randy

Thanks Randy for the spot report. I have a house in North Charleston.
Pete Bezeruk lives in Charleston as well. You are invited to our Fort Moultrie Living History in December.
