Looking into family history, I've found 4 Great-Great-Great Uncles known to have been in the Tramp Brigade:
Sgt. William Martin: Co. G, 22nd SCVI, KIA at the Crater.
Pvt. Warren Martin: Go. G, 22nd SCVI.
Pvt. Jeremiah Gillespie: Co. D, 18th SCVI POW at Five Forks
Pvt. Paul Gillespie: Co. D, 18th SCVI.
These men were from all in the upstate part of the state, in Pickens and Anderson county. I'm still looking for info about them, if anyone has any info it would be welcome.....

Will,
If you have other information such as names of wives and children and birth years it would be helpful. So far in a quick serach on Ancestry...
William Martin (b 1836) Famer, resident of Regiment 2, Pickens County, SC. Married to Sarah A. (b 1843). No Children, Estate valued at $70.
Or...
William W Martin (b 1830) Farmer, resident of Regiment 5, Pickens County, SC. Married to Elizabeth Martin (b 1831). Following Children:
Sarah M Martin (b 1846)
William A Martin (b 1850)
Lucy H Martin (b 1855)
Mary Martin (b 1857)
Martha E Martin (b 1860)
Estate Valued at $1000 in Real Estate and $500 in Personal Estate...
Let me know if you have other info that can narrow the search.

Ok, here is what I have.
William and Warren Martin were the sons of my GGGG-Grandfather Jesse Martin, and the brothers of my GGG-Grandmother Narcissa Martin Mullinax
William was born in 1839 and still lived with his parents in 1860, they lived in Regiment 42 of Anderson County. They were farmers and Jesse had a real estate value of $2,500 and a personal value of $3,500. The family owned 3 slaves, 1 slave woman aged 23, a slave boy aged 4, and a slave girl aged 1.
Warren was born in 1828 and also lived in the 42nd Regiment of Anderson County. He lived with his wife Jane as a farmer and had a Real estate value of $4,000 and a personal estate of $1,000. As far as I can tell, he owned no slaves.
The Gillespies are harder to track down. Often the name is spelled “Glaspy” Paul and Jerimiah were both sons of William Gillespie and the brothers of my GGG Grandfather Albert Westmoreland Gillespie. (Who served perhaps in the Hampton Legion) Paul was born abt. 1826 and Jerimiah abt 1838. The lived in the Anderson county area.

Just a little more info.
Jerimiah "Glaspy" was captured Apr. 1st 1865 at Five Forks, as a member of the 18th SC Co. D. POW records state that he was 5 foot 8 inches, with brown hair, gray eyes and a fair complexion. He was listed as a Farmer from Anderson County. He was released June 29th 1865.

I am an avid genealogy/family history researcher. If you would like any help I am glad to help. I have atleast six relatives that served under the Confederacy; two of which served as POW's during the war. Both were held at Camp Chase, OH, the Unions main POW camp.
Thanks,
Randy

Some of them may have been living in Alabama by 1860. I know my GGG Grandfather, Albert W. Gillespie was. (But he came back to SC and joined up with the Hampton Legion when they became Mounted Inf. in Apr. of '64.) I've found them in the 1850 Census in Anderson County.

Well it seems I have two more in Co. D of the 18th S.C.
My GGG Grandfather- Daniel Calloway Kelley (Kelly) joined up on Feb 28th 1863, while the regiment was stationed in Wilmington. He went AWOL for a couple of weeks in Aug. of ' 63., but came back. In June of 1864 he transferred to Co. D of the Hampton Legion Mtd. Inf. In exchange, Jacob Kemmimore of the Hampton Legion went to the 18th S.C. "Calloway" Kelley was born in 1828 in Pickens County S.C.
D.C.'s younger brother, George Washington Kelly was also in the 18th S.C. he joined up on Dec. 4th 1861. He was promoted to Cpl sometime in 1862. He also went AWOL in Aug. of '63 and was reduced down to Pvt. He was present with the regiment until he was wounded in the neck on Mar. 25th 1865, and was sent to a hospital in Petersburg. There he was captured by the Federals on April 3rd. He was paroled on July 5th 1865. G.W. was born in 1840.
