Hello to everybody. Just wanted to introduce myself as your forum suggests that I do. My name is Scott, Im 23. I been living here in Beaufort, SC a year this month.
I met Greg and Brian this past weekend at Ft. McAllister. I am excited about rejoining this hobby as I have been inactive for a few years now. In high School (when I got started) I was a member of the 2nd Maryland Co. H (C.S.A), an organization; while mainstream was very authentic and taught me alot. I been involved in a few events now, but I cant claim to be a grizzled old veteran or anything. I look forward to meeting everyone in the mess and falling in with you. If anybody happens to travel by beaufort county dont be hesitant to email me. Im down for just about anything.
Ive been learning alot already, seeing as how the past week I have done nothing but "Google" the hell out of the Tramp Brigade and antebellum South Carolina. If theres anybody thats needs a hand with research or anything, just drop me a line.

Scott,
Welcome to the Brigade!
Now you met Greg and Brian at Fort McAllister... I guess I was too busy taking the Rebel works or drink Mrs Lawson's mulled wine. My loss... I look forward to meeting you in the future.

Spoke to Scott on the phone the other day and I am happy to have him and his friend Eric on the team, as you can see Scott, 2009 will be a busy year for us.
I was happy that you found our website and are ready to get back into the hobby. If you can, find your way to River's Bridge in February and help me with recruiting for our other missions. Fort Moultrie is around the corner as well and I hope we will have the green light very soon.
Not to mention spectacular events like Into the Piney Woods, Bummers and a multiple of out-of-state programs.
Thanks for signing on.

Hope everybody had a good Christmas and a Happy New year to come.
Could I ask for a little clarification? According to the website yall have a slew of events posted for 2009; what Im trying to figure out are the max effort events for the brigade members. And numbers or names of who is going to what. This will help me alot seeing as how I dont have a complete kit yet. And along with my buddy Eric we've been looking into people around our parts who may be interested.
Im almost finished "Wandering To Glory", alot of information as Im sure you all know. This is like a whole new world of learning for me. Seein as how my interest and knowledge was specifically geared toward the ANV and the forces and campaigns of the Shannendoah. Good stuff.

Scott,
It can be a bit confusing when you look at the event website...
http://www.trampbrigade.com/events.htm# ... g%20Events
On the left are the Maximum Effort Events, in the middle our the events we are hosting and on the right are the supporting events.
In my opinion You, Eric and any new member should focus on a civilian impression first (we are protraying a brigade made up of citizen soldiers in South Carolina so we all started as civilians), if your finances and desire support it the next would be a generic western union army infantry impression (for our support of most SCAR events) and lastly a generic confederate impression.
Now, if you look at an event on our list and you don't have the full kit to attend, just ask. A number of us have extra uniform pieces and kit and we'd be glad to loan some gear to get more of our comrades out in th e field together.
I'm personally going to Duck River Line, Olustee, Into the Piney Woods and Fort McAlister as an Union Infantryman; then Rivers Bridge and Resaca as a Confederate Infantryman; and will be the Federal Garrison's Officer of the Day at Fort Moultrie.
My next recommendation is to focus on our event first... We need civilians for the Militia at Fort Moultrie, for that one you don't even need a weapon. If you have the desire to see the elephant, I got about two spare suits of blue if they fit... for the Federal events.
I hope that helps...

Thanks for the insight. My "civi's" are what I am working on attaining first. And Fort Moultrie is definitley a priority for me. I was just trying to figure where everybody was throwing their focus for these other events that the Brigade isnt hosting.
