Hello All.

I wanted to formally introduce myself, for those of you who don't know me.

I am from (born and raised) Montgomery, Al. I enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1990, served in Gulf I with 6th MaArines Anti-tank Platoon, in Somalia with Weapons Co. 1st Bn, 2nd Marines, and the Balkans with Weapons Co. 2nd Bn, 6th Marines in 1994.

In early 1995 I was stationed at Parris Island where I was a Primary Marksmanship Instructor at the Rifle Ranges.

I started living history with the 11th SC Vol Inf in Beaufort. My first event was Rivers Bridge in 1995, all borrowed farb gear (with pics) and I was hooked.

Many of you know Bill Rambo...he was my 11th grade US History teacher. I have been a Civil War "buff" since way before that. Around the end of 1995, I think...The Bully Boys started hanging out with Levi Ledbetter at mainstream events...selling wares, etc. and I started to see there was a more authentic way to do this hobby. My first authentic purchase was a Don Rademacher shelter half. I quickly acquired more gear and started doing authentic events...living histories, immersion events, death marches, hardcore campaign events...what ever they have been called through the years. In 1999 I moved back to Alalbam after EAS'ing, and we shortly thereafter formed the Yellohammer Rifles, and continued doing these events now termed EBUFU all over the Eastern US...Outpost, Recon, Pickett's Mill, Immortal 600, etc. ad naseum. My last unknowingly was Pickett's Mill in 2004...I believe.

In early January 2005, my wife's father died. It hit us hard, and turned our life upside down. I then had some health issues of my own...relating to my Gulf War Service...which kept me from doing many events. I decided to hang it up, and sold all my gear...and boy do I regret it now.

In fall 2008, Garrett...my son, asked if we could go to an event. We jumped back in with both feet, and resumed a Home Guard impression we had done at Selma before he was old enough. He was hooked. We have yet to get back to any EBUFU events, with high school football and a wife in Pharmacy School...and me cooking, cleaning, helping with homework...etc.etc. We missed Resaca, ITPW, and Atlanta all for various school and football related reasons...final exams, spring jamboree, MSU football camp.

I hope you will all see us at an event soon. If it comes ot pass that an EBUFU event falls on a weekend when life doesn;t interfere, we will be there.

Until then, I am stuck making the best of mainstream events with some good old campaigner friends.

My effort at Rivers Bridge is more personal, and for my dear friend Sherry Key. If you would like to join us...let me know.

Ahhhh, old Frank Lanning's business. Yeah.....then we've definitely met before. I would've been the 5'4 140lbs campaigner with the Bully Boys (narrows it down right?) You could catch me with Adam Cecil, Philip Kirby, Cotton, and a few others.

Adam was great at getting material. I remember sitting in camp teaching his brother how to do buttonhole stitches.

Someone told me years ago that Frank got out of the business due to health issues. I suppose He's still living in NC.

Nick And Galen:

Glad to see you on this forum, hopefully we will have opportunities to support one another. Also not all our events will be campaigner or authentic camping, we will have Living History programs.and garrison events at Fort Moultrie or Sumter. Once in a blue moon and for the organizers that appreciate it , we might adjunct at a mainstream event, but that depends on several conditions.

Anyways welcome to the TBOHI forum.

I have no clue where Adam or the rest of the gang is. After I moved up here, I still traveled to events back home and fell in with them. After about 3 years, I lost touch with all of them. It would be great to get the whole gang back together again for an event.
