Thank you for being so warm in your welcome. Although I'm not from SC, I look forward to learning more about your group. I am interested in many Historical Time periods, and enjoyed my most recent History Lesson from Greg Deese at Westville's latest event, Sparks of Sucession, hosted by Jim Butler.

My "normal" job is to teach, and I enjoy bringing Living History to the students, so they have a better appreciation of their Country and the events that occured therein. Writing letters and speaking in "period" are two things I greatly enjoy. Traveling when I can, and meeting new folk are amoung my yearly highlights, when I can get set free from my desk and grading!!! 8)

Most recently, I have portrayed Mary Kolb, the daughter of the laundress at Westville. In April, I portray Miss Emily Dickinson for the Alabama Book Festival in Montgomery. I run with the 1814 TN militia at Fort Jackson in Wetumpka, and am settling in with the French group at Fort Toulouse (also in Wetumpka). Bob McLendnon extended the invite for his 1836 Creek Wars at Westville last Spring, and it was a super experience! At some time, I hope to at least visit an event in SC and put to use my new growing knowledge. Thank you for all you do, and the insight you offer along with time and effort.

Sincerely,
Rachel
