Hello everyone. After skulking around on this site for a bit, it is time to introduce my self...

I currently reside in Charleston working for a local tour company and Magnolia Plantation as a historical Interpreter on the "From Slavery to Freedom" project. I have been in the hobby since I was 16. My first unit was Peace River Artillery out of Florida. Ahh those were the days.
While I keep only loose unit affiliation I enjoy the hobby very much and have recently started producing my own kit. (Only after I sold my soul to the Devil to learn to sew.) My closet contains kit spanning from 1670-1970.
I have been in the museum field since 2002 and love it. I wouldn't trade it for any other profession. Some of the places I have worked include...

Old Fort Jackson, Savannah GA. Confederate Heavy Artillery
Patriots Point, Charleston SC. WWII / Viet Nam USN & USMC
Magnolia Plantation

There are others but those are the highlights.

I look forward to participating with the Tramp Brigade in the near future.

As the VP has stated, welcome to our modest forum, hopefully we will get to meet you in the field. Our Siege Artillery school was just changed from September 19th tot he 5th (Saturday), so come out and introduce yourself to the TBOHI at Fort Moultrie.

I hope to make it. It would be good to use some heavy artillery knowledge again. I sure do miss my 32pdr and 9in Dahlgren.

Nice to see ya James, I too work in the same field as you and just down the road from you at Middleton Place as there Blacksmith. Do come by and see me some time I work Sun-Thur with Fri and Sat as my weekends. By the way I know a fellow who use to work at Old Ft. Jackson John Guss is his name he served with me in the 2nd SC (Rev War) as one of my Pvt’s for a couple of years. I’ve been in the hobby for 29 years now man and boy and love it. I’ve done several time periods (But now just CW and Rev War) and have done everything from Inf, Cav, and Art and love’um all. I’ve also held every rank on the field from drummer boy to brigade commander and am happily now just a muddy Pvt.

See ya on the field some time.

Ron
