On the Mississippi road 22 at Hwy 463 (Mannsdale Rd) in Madison County Mississippi, could be the location of a Tramp Brigade Camp. It was described as place of rolling hills, a cross roads, several wooden structures and a church. During 1863 the farms mostly raised cattle. The 17th Regiment camped there for several days and drank from the natural spring. It was a dry summer for Mississippi in 1863 and the lack of water was a serious problem, that probably delayed reinforcements to Vicksburg.

If you notice from the pictures a certain familiar feel to the ground. At the crossroads of Hwy 22 and 463, ran "Livingston Church Road" down a shallow valley to a shallow creek, some of the graves dated back to the 1870's although I found no WBTS grave sites.

Unfortunately a Nissan plant was opened recently in affluent Madison, (mean per capita income was 56K per year), development is exploding and the new residents have little or no interest in the local history.
