 22nd SC at Secessionville

Does anyone know which Company of the 22nd SC was at Battery Lamar during the Battle of Secessionville?

All the info and accounts list one company of men from the 22nd SC, but does not say who it was...ex. Co. A, B, C...etc.

From the maps I have studied and seen this company held a position on the Right Corner Wall to Right Wall (facing the marsh away from Folly) of Battery Lamar if you were standing inside.

The rest of the 22nd SC was camped near Ft. Johnson Rd along Camp Rd.

Brian,
Thank you for the info on my question. That will help me in what I am planning on doing next about research on the 22nd SC.

I am thinking that these 10 men from each company of the 22nd SC were most likely the best shots, the fighting men of each company?

Captain Joshua Jamison was in command of the 100 man detail from the 22nd SC at Battery Lamar.

Capt. Jamison was from Co. G which was recruited and raised from the Anderson, SC area.

The detail suffered 10 killed and 7 wounded. It was said that Jamison's detail had the highest casualties to proportion of any other units engaged at Secessionville.

Again thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
